The KEFRI will collect, process and distribute 100tons of seeds to stakeholders annually to enable raise 1.5 billion seedlings annually to contribute to 15 billion tree planting/growing by 3032. This will raise the tree cover to 30% from current 12,5%.
To enhance that, the government have initially constructed 18 new seed processing and storage facilities across 18 counties to enable achieve collection and storage of the seeds while taking the service near to the community/stakeholders.
